Workshop of Luigi Valadier, Silver gilt items for a papal set: an altar pax brede, a candlestick, a pyx, a ciborium, a bell, an ampulla with a ribbed glass body, a funnel, c. 1765-70, graphite, pen, brown ink, brown and grey wash on paper, 360 x 520 mm.; numbered upper left: “83”. Several of these items, for example the altar pax brede, are close to some of the pieces making up Cardinal Domenico Orsini d’Aragona’s pontifical set made by Luigi Valadier in 1768-9 and now in the Cathedral of San Nicola in Muro Lucano (Agresti 2017; González-Palacios 2018, pp. 337-346, with preceding bibliography).
