His father, a painter like him, was already dead by then and Guglielmo was carrying on the family business. Most of the documents inform us that he lent money, and that his debtors included the painter Giovanni da Riolo and the master wedding-chest maker Giovanni di Ser Bartolino. Guglielmo is also recorded in the company of Giovanni da Riolo in the Monastery of Sant’Ippolito, where they were probably both working in 1443–4, and he is recorded as guarantor for the affairs of the painter Francesco Torelli, who worked with Andrea del Castagno in the church of San Zaccaria in Venice and with whom Guglielmo enjoyed a close bond of friendship and cooperation.

At some point in time, Guglielmo moved to Forlì, where he is recorded as “habitator forlivii” from 1432 to 1434, but references to him were already beginning to reappear in the archives in Faenza by 1439. He was in Imola in 1449, but he must have wed before making that journey because by 1443 he was already installed with his new wife, Margherita, in his house near Sant’Ippolito in Faenza. Their marriage was short-lived, however, Margherita dying shortly thereafter, and in 1452 Guglielmo married a certain Santa del fu Maraffino.

He disappears from the archives after drafting his will in 1459, in which he left his assets to his third wife, Elisa di Maestro Sante di Tredozio, and to his son Pier Andrea, a goldsmith.

["post-4102","artista","type-artista","status-publish","hentry
["GET
